Sec 302 - State Insurance Regulation
Section 302 of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act permits states to continue regulating insurance entities operating within their borders, provided that such regulation does not conflict with the federal preemption provisions of the law. It authorizes state insurance departments to enforce standards on solvency, consumer protection and market conduct while maintaining the integrated banking-securities-insurance framework created by the act.
