Sec 507 - Opt-Out Right for Financial Information
Section 507 of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act gives consumers the right to opt out of a financial institution's sharing of their nonpublic personal information with non-affiliated third parties, provided the institution first gives clear notice. The rule applies to most consumer financial products, though certain disclosures for fraud prevention or public-interest purposes are exempt.
