Sec 102 - Prohibiting Discrimination Based on Health Status

Section 102 of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 prohibits group health plans and health insurers from discriminating against individuals because of their health status, including pre-existing conditions, and requires that they offer the same coverage terms and benefits to all eligible persons.
