Sec 211 - Medicare Integrity Program

Section 211 of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act creates the Medicare Integrity Program, which coordinates federal and state efforts to detect, prevent, and correct fraud, waste, and abuse in Medicare. The program authorizes the Secretary of Health and Human Services to develop policies, conduct investigations, and impose penalties to protect the integrity of the Medicare system.
