Annex 12 - Search and Rescue

Annex 12 to the ICAO Convention on International Civil Aviation establishes the standards and recommended practices for air-search and rescue, defining state responsibilities, SAR region coordination, operational procedures and the use of aircraft, ships and other resources to locate and assist distressed aircraft and persons in need.
