PS4 - Community Health, Safety and Security

PS4 of the IFC Performance Standards requires borrowers to identify, assess and manage risks and impacts on community health, safety and security that arise from project activities. It mandates implementation of mitigation measures, emergency response plans and ongoing monitoring to protect workers, local residents and vulnerable groups, and to ensure that operations do not exacerbate crime, accidents or health hazards.
