Clause 4 - Context of the Organization
Clause 4 requires an organization to identify and analyze its internal and external issues, relevant interested parties and their needs, and to define the scope of its IT service management system. It sets the foundation for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving the service management system in alignment with the organization's strategic direction. This contextual understanding informs all subsequent requirements of ISO/IEC 20000-1:2018.
