8.2 Prerequisite programmes (PRPs)

Entry 8.2 in ISO 22000:2018 defines prerequisite programmes (PRPs) as the foundational food-safety activities that control the operational environment, infrastructure, and basic conditions necessary for safe food production. It specifies how organizations must identify, implement and maintain these programmes to eliminate or reduce hazards before the HACCP plan is applied.
