4.6 Respect for international norms of behaviour

ISO 26000:2010 identifies "Respect for international norms of behaviour" as a core principle requiring organisations to align their actions with globally recognised standards such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, ILO conventions, environmental treaties and anti-corruption frameworks, thereby ensuring that their conduct contributes to sustainable development and avoids practices that conflict with established international expectations.
