4.7 Respect for human rights

ISO 26000:2010 defines respect for human rights as a core principle of social responsibility, requiring organisations to avoid infringing on internationally recognised rights and to address any adverse impacts their activities may cause. It calls for policies and practices that align with the UN Guiding Principles, promote dignity, non-discrimination and fair treatment for employees, communities and other stakeholders, and encourages transparent reporting and remediation mechanisms.
