4.3 Determining the scope of the management system

ISO 37101:2016 clause 4.3 requires an organization to define the scope of its sustainable-development management system, specifying the geographical, functional and stakeholder boundaries, the activities and locations covered, and any exclusions. This ensures the system's objectives, processes and performance indicators are applied consistently to the relevant community context.
