NPSG.02 - Improve the effectiveness of communication

NPSG.02 mandates that hospitals develop and implement systematic processes to improve the effectiveness of communication among caregivers, patients and families. It requires clear policies, standardized tools such as SBAR for handoffs, regular staff training and ongoing measurement of communication outcomes to reduce errors and enhance patient safety.
