Annex V - Garbage

Annex V of MARPOL 73/78 establishes rules for the handling and discharge of ship-generated garbage to protect the marine environment. It bans the release of plastics and limits other waste based on distance from shore and quantity, mandating a garbage record book and approved waste management plans.
