2B - Halons

Halons are brominated fluorocarbons used primarily in fire-suppression systems; they are highly effective at extinguishing fires but have a very high ozone-depletion potential and long atmospheric lifetime. Under the Montreal Protocol they are listed in Schedule 2B and subject to phase-out schedules and restrictions worldwide
