Rate and Form Filing Requirements

The NAIC Model Law on rate and form filing requirements sets out uniform standards for insurers to submit proposed premiums, rating methodologies and policy language to state regulators for review and approval. It aims to promote consistency, transparency and consumer protection by ensuring rates are not excessive, inadequate or unfairly discriminatory before they are used in the market.
