Annex II - Important Sectors (postal, waste, food, digital providers, etc.)

Annex II of the EU NIS2 Directive (2022/2555) defines the "important sectors" that must meet enhanced cybersecurity obligations, covering areas such as postal services, waste management, food supply, digital service providers and other critical economic activities. These sectors are identified because a disruption could significantly affect the functioning of society and the economy, prompting stricter risk-management and incident-reporting requirements.
