03.13.01 - Boundary Protection

The sc_l_01 control mandates that organizations implement and maintain boundary protection mechanisms such as firewalls, gateways, and intrusion detection systems to monitor and control inbound and outbound network traffic at the system perimeter, ensuring only authorized connections can access or transmit Controlled Unclassified Information and that boundary devices are properly configured, updated, and logged.
