Article 2 - Long-Term Goals

Article 2 establishes the overarching long-term climate objectives of the Paris Agreement, aiming to keep the increase in global average temperature well below 2 °C above pre-industrial levels and to pursue efforts to limit it to 1.5 °C. It also calls for enhancing the ability of Parties to adapt to climate impacts, fostering climate-resilient development, and making finance flows compatible with a low-carbon, sustainable pathway.
