Article 5 - REDD+ (Forests)

Article 5 of the Paris Agreement establishes the framework for REDD+, a mechanism that supports developing countries in reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, conserving forest carbon stocks, and enhancing forest management. It encourages the participation of parties in results-based finance, capacity-building, and knowledge-sharing to promote forest-related climate mitigation and sustainable development.
