Subtitle E - Duties of the Secretary of Commerce

Subtitle E of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act sets out the duties of the Secretary of Commerce, assigning responsibility for overseeing the nation's hazardous-waste program, coordinating with the Environmental Protection Agency, and enforcing compliance with the Act's provisions. It also authorizes the Secretary to develop policies, issue regulations, and provide technical assistance to states and private entities handling solid and hazardous waste.
