Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) (Art 57)

Under REACH (EC No 1907/2006) the "svhc" entry designates Substances of Very High Concern listed in Annex IV, identified because they pose serious hazards such as carcinogenic, mutagenic or reproductive toxicity, persistence, bioaccumulation, or equivalent risks. Inclusion triggers obligations for communication, possible authorisation under Article 57 and eventual restriction to protect human health and the environment.
