Chapter IV - Radiocommunications

Chapter IV of SOLAS 1974 establishes the mandatory standards for maritime radiocommunications, specifying the types of radio equipment, satellite systems and the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System that vessels must carry, as well as the training and procedures required to ensure reliable distress, safety and operational communications at sea.
