ISM Code - Designated Person Ashore

The Designated Person Ashore (DPA) is a senior company official appointed under the ISM Code to ensure that a ship's safety management system is implemented and that safe and environmentally responsible operation is maintained. The DPA serves as the primary link between shipboard crew and shore management, receives reports of non-conformities, and takes corrective action when required.
