AHERA - Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act

AHERA is an amendment to the Toxic Substances Control Act that requires schools to inspect for asbestos-containing building materials, develop and implement management and response plans, and conduct periodic training and reporting to protect occupants from asbestos exposure. It establishes a national program to ensure safe handling, removal, and monitoring of asbestos hazards in educational facilities.
