Extended Producer Responsibility

The WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU entry "epr" refers to Extended Producer Responsibility, a policy that obliges manufacturers and importers of electrical and electronic equipment to finance and manage the collection, treatment, recycling and safe disposal of their products once they become waste, shifting the cost and responsibility from public authorities to the producers.
