Separate Collection Requirements (Art 5)

The WEEE Directive mandates that each EU Member State establish systems for the separate collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment, ensuring that manufacturers and distributors provide dedicated collection points or bins distinct from general waste. Art 5 requires these schemes to be easily accessible to consumers, to enable efficient recovery and recycling of WEEE, and to support the tracking of quantities collected for reporting purposes.
