Producer Take-Back Obligations

Under the WEEE Directive, producers must arrange and finance the collection of end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment from users, ensuring that it is returned to authorised treatment facilities. They must also report quantities, meet national recovery targets and bear responsibility for the safe disposal or recycling of the products they place on the market.
