Article 9 - International and Regional Systems

Article 9 of the WTO Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade encourages members to base their technical regulations and conformity assessment procedures on international standards or, where appropriate, regional standards, and requires that any deviation be no more trade-restrictive than necessary to achieve legitimate objectives.
