Carpets and other textile floor coverings

The CN 57 chapter covers woven, tufted, or needle-felt carpets and other textile floor coverings, including actions, matting, and rugs, whether or not they are coated, backed, or made of man-made fibres, but excluding floor coverings of plastics, rubber, or other non-textile materials. It also includes carpet pieces trimmed to size for installation and textile floor coverings used as wall or ceiling panels. This chapter does not encompass non-textile floor coverings such as those of wood or metal.
