Impregnated, coated, covered or laminated textile fabrics

Code 59 in the EU Combined Nomenclature covers textile fabrics that have been impregnated, coated, covered or laminated with plastics, rubber, leather, paper, metal or other substances, giving the material enhanced properties such as water-proofing, insulation or increased strength. These treated fabrics are classified separately from untreated textiles because the additional layers change their primary function and composition.
