Article 99 - Entry into force and application

Article 99 sets the GDPR's start date, stating that the Regulation shall enter into force 20 days after its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union and become applicable on 25 May 2018. From that day onward, all processing of personal data within the EU must comply with the Regulation's provisions.
