Cat 3 - Fuel and Energy-Related Activities

Category 3 in the Greenhouse Gas Protocol corporate standard covers fuel- and energy-related activities, capturing emissions from the extraction, production, and transportation of fuels as well as the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity, steam, heat and cooling that a company purchases or sells. These upstream and downstream emissions are reported under Scope 3.
