Late onset cerebellar cortical atrophy

**Definition:** This is a sporadic late onset cerebellar cortical atrophy with progressive ataxia. Neuropathologically it is characterised by diffuse cerebellar cortical lesions and absence of neuronal loss in the dorsomedial part of the inferior olives.

**Exclusions:** - Hereditary ataxia
