Generalised myoclonic seizure

**Definition:** Seizure characterized by sudden, rapid brief (<100msec) involuntary muscle jerks that may involve just one muscle or the entire trunk musculature and are associated with an ictal EEG discharge. Can occur bilaterally, unilaterally, synchronously or asynchronously.
