Cerebral ischaemic stroke due to global hypoperfusion with watershed infarct
**Definition:** This is a sudden loss of brain function due to a lack of adequate blood flow. It occurs in association with a low state of blood flow to the brain. The "watershed" regions of the brain, regions that are supplied by the branching ends of two large arteries, are particularly sensitive to low oxygen supply when arteries do not maintain the appropriate tension.
