Autonomic neuropathies

**Definition:** Dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system due to diabetes mellitus that presents as functional complications such as resting tachycardia, exercise intolerance, orthostatic hypotension, constipation, gastroparesis, sweating, bladder distention, and impotence.
