Arachnoiditis

**Definition:** Arachnoiditis is a chronic inflammation of the arachnoid layer of the meninges, of which adhesive arachnoiditis is the most severe form, characterised by debilitating, intractable neurogenic back and limb pain and a range of other neurological problems.
