Optic neuritis

**Definition:** Optic neuritis is a condition related to immune mediated inflammation of the optic nerve. It is commoner in women and can be the first presenting symptom of MS. The symptoms are those of blurred vision, pain on moving the eye and in the vast majority it is self limiting.
