Diverticulum of small intestine

**Definition:** This is a morphological condition in which there is a small pouch in the lining of the small intestine, bulging outward through a weak spot. Each pouch is called a diverticulum. The condition of having multiple diverticula with symptoms, or with inflammation is excluded from here.
