Chronic tubulo-interstitial nephritis

**Definition:** A disease characterised by inflammation of and damage to tubules and/or the interstitium of the kidney, interstitial scarring, fibrosis and tubule atrophy resulting in progressive chronic renal insufficiency

**Exclusions:** - calculous pyelonephritis (NFAD)
