Apolipoproteins L

**Definition:** A family of apolipoproteins occurring in humans that are structurally similar to B-CELL LEUKEMIA 2 FAMILY PROTEINS. In addition to their roles in cholesterol and lipid transport, they are expressed by MYELOID CELLS and ENDOTHELIAL CELLS during INFLAMMATION and may function to promote CELL DEATH.
