**Definition:** Type 1 ribosome-inactivating proteins derived from SAPONARIA OFFICINALIS that function through endohydrolysis of the N-glycosidic bond at single ADENOSINE residues of 28S RIBOSOMAL RNA. They are used as IMMUNOTOXINS.
