DNA Excision Repair Protein ERCC-5

**Definition:** A DNA helicase that performs EXCISION REPAIR functions following UV damage. In humans, mutations in the ERCC5 gene can cause XERODERMA PIGMENTOSUM, COMPLEMENTATION GROUP G and increase susceptibility to SKIN CANCER.
