VT30 Topical Gel

**Definition:** A topical gel containing VT30, a prodrug of VT10 which is an inhibitor of the class I phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate 3-kinase (PI3K) catalytic subunit alpha (PIK3CA), with potential use in the treatment of cutaneous venous malformations, lymphatic malformations, or mixed venolymphatic malformations associated with PIK3CA or TEK mutations. Upon topical administration, VT30 crosses the skin and is cleaved by naturally occurring enzymes to produce VT10. VT10 binds to and inhibits PIK3CA, blocks PI3K signaling, and suppresses the growth of skin lesions associated with PIK3CA or TEK mutations.
