Granular Cell Astrocytoma

**Definition:** An astrocytoma characterized by the presence of large numbers of neoplastic cells with granular, PAS-positive cytoplasm. It is associated with an aggressive clinical course, even when the histologic features suggest a lower-grade astrocytoma.
