**Definition:** Myotubularin-related protein 5 (1868 aa, ~208 kDa) is encoded by the human SBF1 gene. This protein is involved in the regulation of myotubularin-related protein 2 (MTMR2)-mediated phosphoinositol phosphatase activity and guanine nucleotide exchange activity for Rab family proteins.
