IGH/NSD2 Fusion Gene

**Definition:** A fusion gene that results from a chromosomal translocation, t(4;14)(p16;q32), which juxtaposes the enhancer sequences for the mu-constant region from the immunoglobulin heavy chain (IGH) gene locus upstream of exon 3, 4 or 5 of the NSD2 gene. This rearrangement is associated with multiple myeloma and monoclonal gammopathy of uncertain significance.
