IGH/BCL2 Fusion Gene

**Definition:** A fusion gene that results from a chromosomal translocation, t(14;18)(q32;q21), which results in the juxtaposition of a strong transcriptional enhancer from the immunoglobulin heavy chain (IGH) gene locus in the region upstream of the BCL2 gene. This fusion is associated with the germinal center, triple-hit and certain double-hit types of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).
