Potassium-Competitive Acid Blocker

**Definition:** Any agent that suppresses gastric acid secretion through the inhibition of the proton pump, the H+/K+-ATPase, located on the surface of the gastric parietal cells, in a potassium-competitive manner. Potassium-competitive acid blockers (P-CABs) are acid-stable and bind ionically and reversibly to the proton pumps.
