IGH/IRF4 Fusion Gene

**Definition:** A fusion gene that results from a chromosomal translocation, t(6;14)(p25;q32), which results in the juxtaposition of a strong transcriptional enhancer from the immunoglobulin heavy chain (IGH) gene locus with a regulatory region for the IRF4 gene. This rearrangement is associated with multiple myeloma, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and follicular lymphoma.
